    About Wilfredo Hernandez (He, Him/They, Them)

    Wilfredo is an interdisciplinary artist, cultural producer and strategic consultant with over 20 years of experience in leadership and producing in the arts, culture and nonprofit sector. He is the founder and CEO of Communitas Arts + Culture, LLC, a consulting/production company working to advance social justice, equity and community in and through the arts, and is also the founder & Executive Producing Director of the Drag Arts Oral History Project in Philadelphia. He most recently served as Interim Executive Director of CultureWorks Greater Philadelphia, where he oversaw the daily operations, development and financial portfolios of over 100 of the city’s most dynamic arts, culture and community organizations. He previously founded and managed his own theatrical production company (2003-2011) and has worked with organizations large and small on complex projects and consulting cases, including: the Institute for Contemporary Art at UPenn, the Philadelphia Latino Film Festival, We Are The Seeds, the Independence Public Media Foundation, NYU, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, etc. He holds a M.A. degree in Producing & Directing Theatre from New York University and is a graduate of the LGBTQ+ Leadership Pipeline Program with the Philadelphia Mayor’s Office on LGBT Affairs.
