About Allison Trimarco (She/Her)

Allison Trimarco is the owner of Creative Capacity, a consulting firm that collaborates with nonprofits to find creative solutions to management challenges. She works with nonprofits of all shapes and sizes, with a special focus on arts, culture, and history organizations and public libraries. Her practice focuses on building adaptive strategic plans, effective fundraising structures, and modern, inclusive governance processes. Prior to launching Creative Capacity in 2002, Allison held roles in the professional theatre, public television, and community arts fields. She was the first Managing Director for a Chicago community arts organization that brought people from diverse racial and economic backgrounds together to create oral history-based performances. That experience gave her great appreciation for the challenges and opportunities of the Director role, as she established all of the organization’s management, fundraising, and community engagement systems from scratch. Allison earned her Master’s degree in Arts Management with highest distinction at Carnegie Mellon University, and her Bachelor’s degree in Theatre cum laude at Smith College.
