Neil Batiancila
Neil Batiancila currently serves as Philadelphia Zoo’s Chief Development Officer – the first in the history of America’s first zoo. In his role, and as part of the senior management team, Mr. Batiancila oversees all contributed revenue activities, including charitable operations and government affairs. He also oversees the Zoo’s marketing & communications functions.
Prior to his role with Philadelphia Zoo, Mr. Batiancila served as Executive Director, Campaign Operations at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation where he most recently led efforts for a multi-year, multi-faceted $1 billion comprehensive campaign – the most ambitious campaign in the organization’s history. Prior to running this campaign, he served as their Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations where he managed all aspects of CHOP Foundation’s corporate and foundation giving program.
Before he joined CHOP Foundation, Neil served as Aramark’s Director of Community Relations, executing the community involvement strategy for one of Philadelphia’s most recognizable corporate brands. He got his start in fundraising and civic responsibility at City Year, Inc. 10 years, first giving a year of service as an AmeriCorps member, and then ultimately serving as Co-Executive Director of the Philadelphia site.
He has twenty-five years of experience working in philanthropy and continues his commitment to serving the Greater Philadelphia community.
Neil earned his BA in Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania and MBA at the Fox School of Business at Temple University.
