Laura Line is a leader and strategist who has worked in the nonprofit and philanthropy sectors for over 30 years. As a Principal of Bowling Business Strategies, Laura assists local, regional and national clients on a wide range of strategic projects and initiatives. Laura believes in the potential of partnership and has collaboratively developed tools to help people assess their organization’s readiness and capacity to partner, as well as the costs and potential impact of partnering. She has served in several leadership roles in nonprofits, developing new lines of business, building infrastructure and managing operations. She has helped health and social service organizations by successfully applying for grants and contracts for quality improvement, behavioral health, public health programs, and youth development.
Laura enjoys teaching and facilitating peer to peer learning for organizations. She currently facilitates learning for health care leaders in primary care practices across Pennsylvania who are delivering care to people with complex needs. She also served as an adjunct faculty member in environmental health at Arcadia University.
Laura initially came to Philadelphia to work for the Pew Charitable Trusts, where she developed enthusiasm for and skills in strategic thinking during her eight years as a member of the foundation’s Planning and Evaluation department. Laura is originally from North Carolina. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management from the New School in New York City.
