We have developed and successfully piloted four Webinars that clearly define the role of a nonprofit Board President. The audience for these efficient, one-hour online sessions is current and future board presidents, as well as all other board members and executive directors who work with these volunteer leaders. Investing just 60 minutes (at less than $1 per minute!) will give you greater clarity on your role as a nonproift leader and on how to build and maintain productive board/staff relationships.

Each Webinar is led by Laura Otten, Ph.D., Director of The Nonprofit Center at La Salle University, and is presented at a cost of just $50 per session for Members of The Nonprofit Center and $60 for Non-Members.

Register and pay for all four Webinars at once and Members pay only $175 for the series and Non-Members $215. This fee is non-refundable, but arrangements can be made by contacting The Nonprofit Center for someone to participate in your place if you are unavailable.

We've just added an organizational discount so multiple people from your organization can attend from their own locations.  Organization Rate per Webinar :  $75 for Nonprofit Center Members/$90 for Non-Members.  Call 215-951-1701 to take advantage of this special deal.

Webinar Schedule for 2010

Board Development, Part I, 2/19/10, noon to 1 pm

Key insights into how to strategically build and maintain a nonprofit board that meets your organizations’ needs, from identifying what your board should be looking for and how to find appropriate candidates that fit the bill, to making the case of the benefits of serving on your board.

Board Development, Part II - Finding good board members & keeping them, 3/12/10, noon to 1 pm

Building on the knowledge gained in Board Development Part I, you’ll learn what makes for effective board orientation, clarity on board roles and responsibilities, and tips, tips and more tips for keeping quality board members engaged and involved. Taking Part I is not a pre-requisite, but is recommended for a strong knowledge continuum.

Running an Effective Board Meeting, 3/26/10, noon to 1 pm

Board members are volunteers, which means it’s essential to keep them interested and stimulated at board meetings, or risk losing their attention, or participation. Learn the secrets of effective and positive meetings (applicable to many types of meetings) that will leave people feeling their time was well spent, from setting the agenda, to timing, to your role as facilitator.

The Role of the Board in Fundraising , 4/9/10, noon to 1 pm

Every nonprofit board is responsible for fundraising, whether or not they acknowledge that role. Board leadership must therefore be able to inspire, encourage, motivate and instruct the board on how they can support your mission by helping raise funds. We will explore individual responsibility, getting others to give, and trouble-shooting to get the desired response.

Additional Webinars on timely subjects will be announced via email and on our website.

This Webinar series can be packaged and customized for your association or leadership organization so boards of multiple organizations may take advantage of the information
