South jersey Resident to Head Nonprofit Consulting
at La Salle’s Nonprofit Center

For Immediate Release

Philadelphia, PA, September 9, 2009

--- Lori Moffa of Williamstown, NJ, has joined The Nonprofit Center at La Salle University’s School of Business as director of consulting.

The Nonprofit Center is the Delaware Valley’s most comprehensive provider of education and consulting services for the region’s nonprofit sector.

Moffa brings extensive nonprofit experience to her new position, including first-hand knowledge acquired as a consultant to a variety of nonprofit organizations. Most recently, she served as grants coordinator for the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education.

A long-time Philadelphia area resident, Moffa had relocated to Seattle for several years where she served as community resources manager for the United Way of King County. That position prepared her for her new role of recruiting and managing a corps of consultants to provide specialized expertise to nonprofit organizations.

“In Seattle, she worked closely with volunteer consultants,” said Laura Otten, Ph.D., director of The Nonprofit Center, which makes her uniquely qualified to work with a special group of volunteer nonprofit consultants who make up the Executive Service Corps program of our consulting practice,” she added.

“As the individual ultimately responsible for the relationships between our nonprofit clients and the expert consultants that serve them and their unique projects, Lori’s expertise as both a consultant and as an administrator, will be instrumental in making The Nonprofit Center’s consulting service as effective as possible,” Otten said. “We look forward to her furthering our contributions to nonprofit organizations by attracting even more experts to build our consultant corps to respond to the increasing needs of the community,” she added.

During her many years in Philadelphia nonprofits, Moffa worked for the United Way of Gloucester County, the Philadelphia Zoo, Mercy Health System, the Arthritis Foundation and also founded the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce’s Nonprofit Council, to address the needs of nonprofit members and enhance the understanding of the role of nonprofit organization’s in the economic growth of the region.
