Introducing Executive Director University - Professional development for the unique learning needs of nonprofit executive directors

As an executive director, do you ever ask:  "Who is supporting me?  Who is coaching me?  Who is preparing me for the endless array of continuing demands and new challenges? How do I continue to evolve as a leader while I'm immersed in 'doing the work?'"

The Nonprofit Center will launch Executive Director University, an ongoing series of professional development sessions on the issues and subjects that nonprofit staff leaders have identified as priorities.   You may take as few or as many of the workshops as you like.

At The Nonprofit Center, we work with nonprofit leaders every day and at every stage of experience.  This gives us a unique perspective on needs and interests and is the impetus behind the creation of a new series of professional development sessions on the issues that nonprofit EDs have identified as priorities - Executive Director University.

The curriculum includes both personal development programs such as stress management, the art of self-assessment, and individual financial planning and top-level professional advancement, including assessing your business model, maximizing the board-executive director relationship, and the ED's role as a marketer and fundraiser.

This new and targeted approach to leadership advancement of Executive Director University is joined by proven Nonprofit Center programs, such as CLEAR Circles, confidential facilitated peer learning circles and our Certificate in Nonprofit Management.

Bringing Together Board Members and Executive Directors

Recognizing the other key component of the leadership equation in every nonprofit organization, we have also developed additional leadership advancement programs for board members, such as our signature BoardCorps advancement suite and our new Leadership Seminars that foster interaction among board members and executive directors as a professional instructor presents topical subjects.
