Thanks to the support of generous funders and our ongoing commitment to providing nonprofit organizations with access to our programs, we have a limited pool of matching scholarship funds for staff, board members, and volunteers in qualifying nonprofits, primarily used to enable struggling nonprofits to attend special events from The Nonprofit Center.
Scholarship Eligibility
Only registered 501(C)(3) organizations are eligible. Scholarships are intended to subsidize the cost of training for your organization by providing a matching gift to your contribution. You may request assistance for up to three workshops at one time and awards typically range from 20 to 50 percent of the cost of the program.
If you have received a scholarship from The Nonprofit Center in the past 12 months, please wait to request another so we can make these limited funds available to a wide range of organizations.
Scholarship priority is given to:
- small/emerging nonprofits, Catholic organizations, and Nonprofit Center members, particularly those in the communities surrounding La Salle University, courtesy of The Nonprofit Center
- small, community-based Philadelphia County nonprofits, courtesy of the Samuel S. Fels Fund and other generous donors
- Nonprofits in Phoenixville and surrounding communities, courtesy of the Phoenixville Community Heath Foundation
Requests require a minimum of 10 working days to process.
How to Apply for a Scholarship
Applications must be received 10 working days prior to the educational program
1. Complete the Scholarship Cover sheet (PDF)
2. Write a brief letter on your organization's letterhead which includes:
a. Your mission statement
b. Service description, including clients and geographic coverage area
c. Indicate if your organization has allocated funds for professional development and why this subsidy is being requested
d. Indicate if you have applied and received subsidies from The Nonprofit Center in the past three years
e. Who will be attending the workshop(s) and his or her role in the organization
f. How the knowledge gained at this workshop will benefit your organization
3. Complete a separate registration form for each person for whom you are requesting a scholarship.
4. Send Scholarship Cover Sheet, registration form(s) and letter to:

To expedite the request, you may fax the materials to 215-991-2967 and mail the original materials.
5. You will be contacted prior to the workshop to let you know whether you received a scholarship.

When using a coupon or gift certificate, the original must be returned with any balance due and a copy of your invoice.
